Non governmental organization under the auspices of  Brothers Across Borders has expressed concerns over the spate of kidnapping, bombing and heinous crimes that has continued to ravage the northern part of the country.

The NGO also lamented that inspite of the fact that the North has featured prominently in providing political leadership in the country, the region is still the poorest and the least stable part of the polity.

Addressing newsmen on the state of the nation, the National President Dr. Salisu Ahmed Ingawa who read the text of the briefing jointly signed by the National secretary Mr. Bulus James further expressed concerned with the activities of Boko Haram insurgency, the deadly clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmer across the country, widespread and dare-devil spate of kidnappings, bombings and other heinous crimes that are raging in the North.

The organization also noted that the North has been rated as the lowest in human index, the region is still grappling with multiple and endemic ethno religious conflicts.

“our primary objective is to corporate with traditional, political and religious leaders and mobilize all available resources to achieve peaceful coexistence and rapid economics growth in the region.

“on the issue of restructuring that is currently raging in the country, we, the Brothers Across Borders are in support of any realignment that will promote peace, harmony and development in the Nigerian polity.

“thus, the restructuring that follows constitutional means and will lead to the attainment of core national values is what we stand for, however if restructuring is aimed at promoting sectional, sectarian, tribal or any other narrow interest of individuals and groups to the detriment of the interests of the majority of the citizens of Nigeria, our organization will never support.

“we Brothers Across Borders are also concerned with the recent agitation for secession of Nigeria by various interest groups across the nation. these agitations have exposed the vulnerability of the nation to the unbridled ambition of few individuals and groups in the country.

” we Brothers Across Borders are committed to the promotion of peaceful coexistence and the indivisibility of Nigeria, we therefore commend those traditional, religious and political leaders who have come out strongly to condemn any action that will lead to the destabilization of the country”.

Anytime serious representative voice of the North appears, we can easily identify them. This one sounds more of a political wing of certain politician. So, it will remain.
