Edo State Criminal Court 5, Oredo in Benin City, Monday adjourned sitting till 13th October over corruption charges preferred against the five accussed persons; Stephen Aloa, Adams Osabohien, Mallam Ali Suleiman, Aisosa Amadasun and one others over 50 count charges by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) over SUBEB 1.5billion contract scam.

The Judge, Justicen Ohimai Oviaghele disclosed that the matter was adjouned till the said date after listening keenly to the bail applications and adoption of written addresses by both prosecution and defense Counsel in the case, saying date will be convenient for the application to be properly determined by the court.

The five accussed persons were remanded in the prison custody last week after the EFCC Counsel complained that the commission prison facility cannot accommodate the accussed thereby appealing to the court to assist it in remanding the five persons in the state prison since it is safer and more convenient for the commission.

The plea was taken and they were remanded accordingly in the state prison service.

The counsel to both parties in the matter however said they are happy for the adjournment as it would afford them the opportunity of hearing from the court properly.
