Police Parade 8 Suspected Kidnappers Along Kaduna-Abuja Express Way

The Nigeria Police has paraded eight suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, who specialises in terrorising innocent citizens along Kaduna-Abuja express way.

The suspects, Umaru Ibrahim, Leader; Jibril Adamu, Ibrahim Mohammed, Umar Idris, Iliya Adamu, Sumaila Haruna, Silas Chukwuemeka, who confessed to sell drugs to the suspects and Ifeanyi Linus, who serves as informant to the suspects.

The exhibits recovered from them include one AK 47 rifle, three locally made guns, one live cartridge and one Toyota Corolla blue colour and one Toyota Corolla ‎silver colour with registration number: ABJ 893 NV.

Addressing the media at the parade, Force PRO, CSP Jimoh Moshood said “after a sustained surveillance and raid of the criminal hideouts and kidnappers den by the men of Operation Absolute Sanity comprising the Special Tactical Squad (STS), Police Mobile Force (PMF), Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) raided and arrested suspected kidnappers while on duty.

“All the suspects arrested confessed to the crime and admitted to the various roles they played in the commission of these capital offences. They will be arraigned in Court on completion of investigation. Investigation is being intensified to arrest other suspects at large.

He further noted that “the Inspector-General of Police has directed Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) in the zones and State commands across the country to beef up security in their Area of Responsibilities (AOR) and ensure massive deployment of Armed Police Personnel, Patrol Teams and undercover operatives  to black spots, flash points and other vulnerable criminal spots to nip in the bud all forms of crimes and criminality nationwide throughout this period to the upcoming Christmas and New Year festivities and beyond. They are also to make sure that detection of crimes that couldn’t be prevented is prompt to serve as effective deterrent to who-will-be criminal. The ongoing raids on criminal hideouts, black spots will be sustained throughout the country.

Meanwhile, the members of the Operation Sanity has also killed two members of the kidnap gang, who attempted to ambush them yesterday.

According to the Force PRO, the two suspects were part of those who way laid and killed a youth leader, Haru Manya in Sabon Ganya community of Kaduna state.
