2019 Election Will Be Based On Performance – Jirgi

A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and member of the Presidential Campaign Council in 2015, Ibrahim Muhammed Jirgi, has called on Nigerian politicians who are nursing the idea of contesting various elective offices in 2019 General Elections to ride on their own to win such elective offices.

A press statement signed by Ibrahim Jirgi which was made available to Leadership Weekend, advised the aspirants to establish structures, pointing out that 2019 general elections would be based on performance of the contestant.

He said  Nigerian politicians especially those who won various elective offices under the political umbrella of APC and with the “President Muhammed Buhari’s political tsunami”, come 2019 they will be on their own to win such elections” no more no less, “ he reiterated.

The statement also reminded them that the era of riding together to win election is over.

Henceforth, our politicians, especially elective ones should face the reality of life as they are all elected genuinely to serve not to fail or steal, electorate would no longer be blinded by antics of politicians”, he said.

Adding that, “ Buhari’s political tsunami” that saw the good, the bad and the ugly politicians winning various elective offices across the board will never repeat itself, he noted.

The statement read”, come rain, come shine, Nigerian politicians who are nursing the idea of contesting various elective offices be it Gubernatorial, senatorial, house representative, state house of Assembly and so on, may ride on their own to win such elective offices in 2019.
