President of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chief Obasi Lawson yesterday described militants in the Niger Delta blowing up crude oil pipelines as wicked and evil.
The IPMAN president who spoke at a press briefing in Abuja, warned the Niger Delta terrorists to come to the dialogue table or risk military action to curtail their activities in the creeks.
“The continous destruction of pipelines by these militants, is an act of wickedness. It is evil. They are trying to shut down the economy”, he said.
According to him, “If there is an announcement by the Minister that there are losses , we know that vandals are hell-bent on disrupting supply. This is a kind of cankerworm and the law enforcement agencies are working to curtail this. Because if this vandalism persists, it will continue to reduce our supplies”, Mr. Lawson submitted.
He however advised the Federal government to maintain its stand on dialogue with the criminals.
“ They are all citizens of the country, and we must continue to dialogue with them. Because we are in a democracy and we have established laws”.
But in holding the dialogue, the IPMAN president warned the government not to involve faceless people or the wrong people in the Dialogue.
