Osinbajo, Ncube To Discuss Economy At The Interview Lecture

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will tomorrow, be joined by Zimbabwean entrepreneur, Mr Trevor Ncube to speak on the economy and how to sustain startups at the first anniversary and public lecture of The Interview magazine, in Abuja.

Osinbajo, who is the head of the Economic Management Team of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, will be the special guest of honour at the lecture, where he is expected to share fresh insights into the government’s economic recovery efforts.

Ncube, the vice chairman/CEO of the leading South African newspaper, will deliver the anniversary lecture, entitled “Why Start-ups Fail and Strategies to Save Them.”

Ncube is a Zimbabwean entrepreneur with extensive interests in the media in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The managing director/editor-in-chief of The Interview, Mr Azu Ishiekwene, in a statement, yesterday, described the lecture as a special package, considering what businesses are going through, in the country.

“This is not a lecture for its own sake. We have brought together people who will share what participants can use and see results. Considering what businesses are going through today, this is our first anniversary present in special package.”

According to the statement, in his goodwill message, Africa’s richest man and president of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, commended The Interview and the theme of tomorrow’s lecture.

The former governor of Cross River State, Mr Donald Duke, also described The Interview’s first anniversary as a vital milestone and commended its commitment to finding solutions to deep-seated problems.

Also, the CEO of the Paris-based Global Editor’s Network, Mr Bertrand Pecquerie, expressed excitement that the publication is reviving the era of quality magazines, saying, “Quality magazines,” he said, “are very precious in a world obsessed with real time and we need long form articles and interviews for thinking or re-considering our future.”

The MD/CEO of Rain Oil, Mr Gabriel Ogbechie, and the chairman of the Mike Omotosho Foundation, Dr Mike Omotosho, are scheduled to speak on the Nigerian perspectives to the lecture.

Katsina State governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, will chair the event, while the governor of Zamfara State and chairman of the Nigerian Governor’s Forum, Dr Abdul’Aziz Abubakar Yari, is the chief presenter.

The minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, is the chief host.
