Accountant-General Office Alert Nigerians On Fraudsters Impersonating AGF

Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation has called the attention of the general public to be weary of fictitious Facebook accounts created by fraudsters who parade themselves as the Accountant General of the Federation Mr. Ahmed Idris.

In a statement signed by Communication Officer Ifeanyi Okereke on behalf of the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations,  the  OAGF said that some unscrupulous elements have created social media accounts and parading themselves in the platforms as the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF).

According to the statement, the incident have been reported to the Department of State Services (DSS) and some of the culprits have been apprehended.
“It is gratifying to note that the action has started yielding results, as one Izuagie Mohammed , one of the scammers has been arrested by security operatives in Benin City, Edo State.

Mohammed, using a bogus face book account where he poses as the Accountant-General of Nigeria, had already defrauded some unwary members of the public, by promising to help them facilitate access to the Central Bank Empowerment Loans, among other dubious claims.” it said.

It warned the general public to be careful as the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris is a thorough-breed professional, does not transact businesses on Facebook or any other social media platform nor facilitates access to loans for anyone.
