Niger state government has lauded the confirmation of the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris Kpotun by the Council of state describing it most deserving for the first inspector General from the state.
The government in a statement signed by the Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism Mr Jonathan Vatsa also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for finding one of the sons of the state worthy of leading a new regime of policing in the country.
The government stated that though the new Inspector General was leading the police force in a trying time of various security challenges, he should consider his confirmation as challenge and greater responsibility to make his experiences over the years to bear to have a superlative stewardship.
Vatsa stated that the experience of the Inspector General Kpotun, as a super operation cop will be very invaluable to help the nation to overcome its security challenges with prayers and support.
He stated that the force needed a police officer like kpotun who has the exposure of policing outside the shore of Nigeria to confront frontally the security challenges with all honesty and dexterity it deserves.
According to him, “Niger state government has no doubt that with his experience in terms of police operation he will achieve in his assignment as Inspector General of police , we are confident that he will build an enviable police force that will be able to ensure the desire security of lives and property.”
While praying that God should direct the affairs of the new inspector general to deliver in his mandate, he added that the Niger state government have full confidence in the ability of the confirmed head of the police force to succeed
