Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have taken over eight communities in the southern part of Kaduna State.
The communities, LEADERSHIP gathered, include, Ninte, Unguwan Anjo, Akwa’a, Gada Biyu, Andaha, Farin Ruwa and Ampany in Godogodo district of Jema’a Local Government Area in Kaduna State.
A source told our Correspondent yesterday that residents of these eight villages have fled to either Gidan Waya, Kafanchan, Jos, or to other places.
“They are now breaking into our homes and looting what they like. In villages that are not burnt, they are living inside them,” said our source.
Meanwhile, a gang of gunmen yesterday launched fresh attack on GolKofa in the same Godoggodo district, killing a 54- year-old primary school headmaster.
Speaking to the our correspondent, a youth leader who pleaded anonymity alleged that the armed herdsmen had taken over Golkofa after the villagers fled due to the siege the outlaws have laid to the village.
“After the killing of my uncle and another youth last Thursday, our chief said that we should all move out, since we do not know the extent of the next killings, looking at what has happened to other villages.
“So everybody left. I moved to Gidan Waya with my family and many others are also here with us.”
