Some kinsmen of former President Goodluck Jonathan from Bayelsa State have asked his wife and former first Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan to come out open and clear herself of allegations of money laundering that have been strongly linked to her, in the ongoing trial of a former Presidential Aide, Waripamo Dudafa.

According to reports, the people says they were amazed at the audacity of Mrs Jonathan to claim ownership of the over $30million found in the accounts linked to Dudafa, which is now being claimed by Dame Jonathan.

They asked the former first Lady to justify the source of her earnings and business that she was never known to do to have earned so huge among of money.

Among those, said to have shown their excitement at the latest revelations are some friends and political associates of the former President, who claimed that the over bearing tendencies of Mrs Jonathan led to the loss of goodwill by the former President from a lot of his followers during his tenure of office.

Also a foremost traditional ruler in Bayelsa, who is known to be a close associate of the former President, was said to have asked for the rationale behind Mrs. Jonathan rushing to the court, when not yet invited nor questioned by the anti-graft agencies and wondered why she will want to preempt the investigations which already linked him, to the illicit acquisition of such huge amount of money in foreign denomination.

While asking the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC to look further into other illicit transactions that the former first lady must have involved herself in, they expressed their continued support for the anti-corruption effort of the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as they claimed, it is in the interest of the nation.‎
