Lafarge Africa plc, a member of Lafarge Holcim, is committed to the socio-economic development of Nigeria, the company’s Mfamosing plant manager (line2), Mr. Thierry Terriere, has said.

He stated this on Sunday during a media tour of the line 2 project of the company’s plant in Mfamosing, Akampka Local Government Area of Cross River State.

According to him, over the years, the company’s operations have brought many economic and social benefits not only to its host communities, but to Nigeria in general.

He said the company has impacted positively on the lives of members of its host communities in several ways, especially through job placement training, local contractor capacity enhancement, skills acquisition, provision of social service centres, rehabilitation of community roads among others.

“This is an opportunity for me to meet with you – the Media Men of Cross River State, and to share the progress we have made as a company on our Line II Project, our Community Engagement Initiatives as well as our environmental friendly status.

“Our operations have brought many economic and social benefits to Nigeria and particularly to Cross River State, and we are committed to do even better”, Terriere said.

He expressed optimism that when fully operational, the new plant will create several additional direct and indirect job opportunities for Nigerians.
