As part of its continued determination to assist in the rehabilitation of the Boko Haram ravaged communities, the Victim Support Fund says it is set to commence the process of rehabilitating and reconstructing Buni Yadi, in Yobe state.
Making this revelation recently when the Yobe state deputy governor, Engr. Abubakar Ali visited his office yesterday, the Executive Director of the Fund, Professor Sunday Ochoche said the reconstruction of the community will aid quicker resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons.
He also noted that this reconstruction is coming after VSF launched its Agriculture Basic Economic Empowerment Project, which saw 2000 households benefit from scheme in Yobe and another 2000 beneficiaries from Taraba state.
The VSF Executive Director also revealed that the Fund is open to collaboration with Civil society groups and Non-governmental Organisations.
It would be noted that as part of the 2016 milestones of the Fund, the VSF has successfully donated N35 million for treatment of Victims of insurgency, N250 million for rebuilding of over 40 public structures and utilities in Dikwa among others.
Meanwhile, the Yobe state deputy Governor had earlier revealed that the state is in the VSF office to seek more support of the final phase of rehabilitation and reconstruction of the communities affected by the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.
He had admitted that the VSF has contributed immensely to alleviate the suffering of the people of the state and called for support in the areas of materials for the reconstruction of public and private properties.
