Former Edo State deputy governor, Chief Lucky Imasuen, yesterday, said Mr Godwin Obaseki is an economy driver that the state needed at this trying time.
Imasuen stated this during the endorsement of Obaseki by the state chapter of Pool Promoters and Agents, in Benin.
He said what the state needed at this point of economic difficulty across the federation, is Obaseki, with his wealth of experience as an investment expert and the chairman of the state economic team.
He said having been part of Oshiomhole’s government in the past seven years, Obaseki already knew what needed to be done to take the state to the next level.
Imasuen stressed that Oshiomhole has done the foundation for the growth of the state, noting that what is left now is for Obaseki, who has been part of the government, to build on the foundation that has been laid.
“The ship must not be disturbed or change. It is only Obaseki that can repair the economy of the state. Edo need a governor who is an economic expert, particularly now that the Nigerian economy is going through trials.
“A driver who has driven well and has served the state with all sincerity of purpose. As good spirited citizens of Edo, we need continuity of a government with the track record of performance.”
The governorship candidate who was represented by the deputy director general of his campaign organisation, Mr John Osakue, commended the pool promoters and agents for the bold step at endorsing him.
He said Oshiomhole has laid the needed foundation for the development of the state and that the call for continuity is to sustain the temple of development.
He assured that the issue of double taxation and illegal collection will become a thing of the past when he emerge as governor
