Mr Philip Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor-elect, says the Godwin Obaseki led incoming government of Edo, have no choice but to build on the legacy that would be left by the Adams Oshiomhole led government.
Shaibu stated this on Saturday, during a thank you rally to the people of Etsako West, Etsako Central and Etsako East Local Government Areas of the state.
It would be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC), governorship candidate, Mr Godwin Obaseki was declared elected in the September 28, governorship elections in Edo.
Obaseki pulled 319, 483 votes to beat Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored a total of 253,173 votes.
Shaibu assured the people of Etsako East who defied a heavy down pour to listen to his message, that they have a lot to be hopeful for in the Obaseki led government.
While noting that the outgoing Oshiomhole’s government have laid foundation for good governance, he said they (the Governor-elect and himself), remain undaunted with Oshiomhole’s performance in the past seven years.
He said the incoming government already has a workable blue-print of what they hope to achieve in office before seeking for the peoples mandate.
