Hajj: Saudi Commends Nigerian Pilgrims’ Conduct

The Saudi Arabian Consul General in Nigeria, Sheik  Abdulmajid Ibn Muhammad Al Qahtani, has commended the orderly conduct of Nigerian pilgrims at the just concluded 2016 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

He made the commendation during a courtesy visit to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State at Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

The envoy said that Nigerian pilgrims have always been law abiding, respectful and demonstrated maturity in their conduct while performing hajj exercise at the Holy Land.

He congratulated the people and Government of Nigeria for marking its 56th year of Independence, saying that the Saudi Kingdom also celebrated 85th independence anniversary which was also marked in Kano.

He commended the long existing cordial relationship between Nigeria and the Saudi Kingdom.

In his remarks, Governor Abubakar Bagudu hailed the leadership role of Saudi Arabia in the Arab and Islamic World, describing it as worthy of emulation.

Bagudu condemned the activities of radical groups like Boko Haram which, according to him,  are not consistent with Islamic religion.

He called on Saudi investors to come to Kebbi and establish trade relationship especially in the agricultural sector.

Sheik  Abdulmajid Ibn Muhammad Al Qahtani also paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Argungu , Alhaji Samaila Muhammadu Mera at his palace in Argungu.
