Northern Coalition of Human Rights under the auspices of Network forJustice and Human Rights Crusade of 14 Groups has called on the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari to as matter of urgency comply with ruling of the Community Court of Justice of the
Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to release former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
Since its a government that believe in the rule of law, they should adhere to the ruling of the competent court of law that has ordered his immediate release on bail as stated on the judgement of 4th October, 2016 with No: ECW/CCJ/JUD/23/16 of the SUIT NO:
ECW/CCJ/APP/01/16 presided by Justice Friday Chijioke Nwoke.
Speaking with Journalists, the National Secretary of the Coalition, Almustapha Abubakar Bello Esq said, ignoring the order of the ruling of the ECOWAS court will amount to impunity, abuse of due process and disregard of rule of law by Nigeria government.
The group noted with dismay that NSA Dasuki having granted bail by three different respect domestic courts, he is still I detention without recourse to respect and enforcement of his fundamental human rights and personal liberty, which present government preached.
