The director-general of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brig-Gen Sule Kazaure, has made known his commitment to sustain the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) project across Nigeria.
Kazaure stated this yesterday during the flag off of the 2016 HIRD project at Gidan Mai Akuya community of Lafia local government area of Nasarawa state.
In his address, Kazaure who was represented by the Nasarawa state coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Habiba Bappah said that the initiative, which was conceived two years ago has gained acceptance and hascome to stay for the benefit of rural dwellers across the country.
He added that the initiative designed to address the health challenges of Nigerians in the grassroots will forge for further collaboration with more organizations to lay a solid foundation ofr its long term sustainability.
In a remark, Mrs Habiba Bappah, stated that “Our corps medical personnel are expected to come to the local government especially the hinterlands and offer free medical health care.
