In commemoration of the occasion of the Easter, a call has gone to Muslims and Christians to unite as brothers and sisters given the common Abrahamic origin of their religions.
The call was contained in the Friday sermon by the Imam of the state house mosque, Sheik Abdulwaheed Abubakar Sulaiman.
This is contained in a statement issued by the senior special assistant, media, to the President, Garba Shehu.
Addressing the congregation made up of President Muhammadu Buhari, some members of the national assembly, ministers and the governors of Kaduna and Ogun, Malam Nasir  El-Rufa’i and Ibikunle Amosun respectively, the Imam emphasized the need for unity among the followers of the two major religions, asking them to share kindness and hospitality.
“ We all belong to God and to Him we will be going back,” he said, adding that Muslims  have the  duty to follow the path of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) as defined in the Qur’an. Imam Abdulwaheed urged Muslims and Christians to unite behind the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as it fights corruption and insecurity in the land, at the same time seeking economic recovery and prosperity for all.
The Imam ended the sermon with prayers for the good health and wellbeing of the president and the nation.
