Consequent upon the crisis that has hitherto bedeviled the Gombe state chapter of the  All Progressives Congress (APC), the national secretariat through the National Working Committee (NWC) decided to wade in through the instrumentality of the party constitution as captured in Article 13.4 (xvi and xvii) and announced major changes to the party’s leadership at the state level.

In a terse release as obtained by LEADERSHIP and signed by the APC national secretary, Mai Mala Buni, the party accepted the resignation of the  erstwhile state deputy chairman and secretary, Mr Karu Ishaya and Mr Sallau Manu Pindiga respectively, which takes immediate effect.

This is just as the NWC relieved Barr Muhammed Magaji Doho and Barr. Dauda Manu of their positions as state chairman and legal adviser respectively.

While approving the composition of  caretaker officers into various vacant positions, the party named Hon. Lawan Shetima, Capt. Bala Jibrin, Alhaji  Sule Yakubu and Barr. Joseph William as State chairman, deputy chairman, secretary and legal adviser, respectively for a three-month renewable period.

The statement said the decisions were necessary due to the irreconcilable differences of the top hierarchy of the Gombe state chapter of the party, which led to the factionalization of the state chapter as informed by the testimony of its state executive committee and National Working Committee (NWC).
