DELSU Graduates 994 First Laboratory Scientists

A total of 994 Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) Graduands for the years 2007/2008/2009/2010.  The graduands who emerged  various areas of specialisation have been awarded BSc degree from the Delta State University, Abraka.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Eric  Arubayi said the programme on part-time basis, now has the  approval for the establishment of a full time segment, adding that the Senate of the university also approved the admission of students from the last post UME into the programme for the 2011/2012 academic sessions.

While affirming that history has been made within the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology founded in 1971 and established by Act of the National Assembly No. 12 of 2003, he said the graduands, said emerged from various areas of specialisation into the professional body, adding that the Governor Uduaghan- led administration has invested so much on education in the state.

On cultism, Prof. Arubayi disclosed that spirited measures were put in place to curb its activities pointing out that the authorities in the last few years expelled over 65 suspected cult members.

He said that the objectives of the school is to ensure academic balance, stressing that any student who falls short of such target may be shown the way out as the state government will not encourage low academic productivity.
