Unidentified gunmen attacked a police post in Yola Modern Motor-park on Wednesday night and killed a policeman, the police and a witness said.
An eyewitness said, the gunmen on a motorcycle attacked the police post around 7.30p.m and fired shots that sent people scampering for safety.
The Adamawa Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Altine Daniel, confirmed the incident and the death of a policeman from the incident.
The incident came three days after gunmen attacked a church in Jimeta area of the state capital, where 12 people were killed.
Similarly, between Thursday and Friday, last week, gunmen killed 14 persons in two separate incidents Mubi town.
The attacks led the government to ban the operation of motorcycles in the town and imposition of a curfew from 9p.m. to 6a.m. in the city.
