The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has asked the Federal Government to work hard towards proffering a permanent solution to the agitation of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and its sister unions.
The NANS also asked ASUU to consider the impending doom on the Nigerian students and make sacrifices where necessary.
The Nigerian student apex body noted that giving a close attention to the various academic unions will alleviate the interruption of the academic calendar and sustain the confidence of the student community in the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
In a statement signed by the National President of NANS, Adakole Ochai, NANS commended the 7th National Assembly for passing the bill increasing the retirement age of professors from 65 to 70 years.
