The National Association of Nigerian Students NANS has condemned the recent bombings in Kaduna state and has expressed concern on the state of insecurity that has pavaded the country in recent times.

The national president, Comrade Dauda Mohammed, said that ‘despite several efforts by the government and stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the incessant cases of violence, the sponsors and perpetrators of this acts have continued in their onslaught aimed at making the country ungovernable and unsecure for the innocent citizens of the country.’

While condemning the continuous act of violence against the Nigerian state and on innocent citizens, the association has demanded for an improved effort on the part of security forces in order to checkmate the activities of the perpetrators.

He however said ‘We must but at this juncture commend the effort of the State Security Service in the major breakthrough and crackdowns achieved so far in the fight against terrorism while challenging the Nigeria Police under the New Leadership of Mr. M.D Abubakar to increase on their effort and cultivate the culture of citizens involvement and information sharing in order to achieve our desired result in the fight against terrorism.’

‘We also wish to urge Nigerians to see the task as not being that of the security agencies alone but rather as our collective responsibilities. The NANS as an organisation is determined to compliment the effort of relevant security agencies and stakeholders in the fight against terrorism through our planned involvement and security awareness advocacies.’
