The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Aba chapter, has urged the Federal Government to immortalise the late Chief Mathew Mbu, Prof. Sam Aluko and Alhaji Abdulkadir Dantata.

The Chairman of the chapter, Chief Charles Eduzor, said on Thursday in Aba, that the call became necessary because of their valuable contributions to Nigeria.

The late foremost economist, Prof. Sam Aluko, the late first Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK, Chief Mathew Mbu and Kano-based business mogul, Alhaji Abdulkadir Dantata, all died last week.

Eduzor said government should name a monument after them or start an annual event to immortalise them.

“It was a big loss to Nigeria, they were all nationalists and people who made valuable contributions to Nigeria and faultless in the affairs of this country. We will miss them greatly.

“We will miss their fatherly guidance, but what can we do, the Lord giveth and He taketh, they have to die at the age the Lord wanted them to die.

“We want to console the family and Nigerians in general over the demise of these gentle men.

“We also want to urge Nigerians to live positive lives worthy of emulation like we are eulogising these fallen nationalists.”
