The Local Government chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has called on President Good luck Jonathan to declare a state of emergency in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area due to the failure of the State government to stop the alleged killings of Christians in the area.

The Christian body made this call, yesterday, in a petition  addressed to the president, senate president, speaker House of Representatives, Minister of Defense, Director State security services (SSS) and the Inspector General of Police a copy of which was made available to LEADERSHIP.

The letter which was signed by the Association’s chairman and secretary Rev Joshua Gida and Isaac Istifanus tittled: “Manifestations of the Evil intentions of the Governor, Isa Yuguda through the activities of Hausa/Fulani Terrorists and Boko Haram against Christians in Tafawa Balewa Local Government area.”
