Life is a mystery. The man you consider irresponsible could save your life  someday. That is the case of the multi- award winning superstar, Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly called Tuface.

When he joined forces with his friend and classmate BlackFace to form the music group Plantashun Boyz, he was like a child striving live the dream of becoming famous one day.

His award winning hit track "African Queen" was used as the sound track of a comedy film  titled ‘Phat Girlz’ in 2006, This made him even more popular both home and abroad.

The music group, Plantashun Boyz  came together briefly in 2007 to record an album titled 'Plan B'.

Since then, Tuface has not relented in his strive to stardom, this prompted one of the biggest entertainment outfits, Kennis Music to sign a record deal with him.

The record deal made him start up a solo career, which eventually brought him more fame in the entertainment industry.

He released a promotion album in 2008 which spawn a hit, "Enter the Place", written by Churks, though one of his least hits ever, did well in some charts.  Many consider that song and the numerous women in his life to be the beginning of his woes, but he claimed to be capable of caring for them all.

Anything he does was news. The story of his impregnating spree was in the news, a lot of controversy were in the air but that did not deter the African Queen crooner in his bid to reaching the top of his chosen career, as he continued to represent the industry around the globe.

His life has come under threat by gun men, a couple of times; in 2004 and 2007 respectively.

In January 2004, he was attacked by armed robbers. It was a close shave, as the men of the underworld broke the wall to enter into his house. He was seriously beaten up by those robbers.

He said they were beating him up and asking him where the master of the house was? Just to have his life spared and continue to entertain his numerous fans, he told them: “My master has travelled”.

“They didn’t know I was the master of the house. They were just hitting me with a stick.

They almost broke my neck. At the hospital, I was made to wear a neck brace for over a month. They took away my money, jewelries and some other stuff. But thank God my life was spared.

When the news broke out that Mr. Lover Man has finally decided to settle down, his fans were ecstatic.

Last Tuesday shocked everyone when he proposed to actress Annie Macauley, one of the mamas of his five children.

The singer who was reported to have proposed to her on Valentine’s Day to the surprise of Annie and his fans at Club 10, Victoria Island, Lagos proved his detractors wrong that he can be a responsible man not just a Casanova that people call him.

Meanwhile, since that public declaration of his intention to his African Queen, he seems to be nowhere in sight perhaps to allow the dust raised by his marriage proposal to settle down.

Some weeks back, news spread like tsunami that Tuface is expecting his sixth child, having impregnated Pero one of his babies’ mamas for the third time.

It would be recalled that the romance between Tuface and Annie had been on for more than ten years and just two years ago, she had a daughter named Isabel for him. Tuface has four other kids, two each from Sumbo Ajaba and Pero Adeniyi respectively.

On Tuesday, Entertainment Rendezvous received a call that ‘Tu Baba’ had died through out that day in the office, calls kept coming in.

The story was however false and the handiwork of some rumour mongers.
Though the writer indicated at the base of the website, that it was just another hoax; many users of the site were unaware of this.

When Nigeriafilms.com spoke with Bayo Omisore, Tuface’s publicist, he confirmed it to be a rumour.

In his words, "Tuface Idibia is not dead. He is alive and recording in Los Angeles. The website that reported the death also debunks it on the same page."

The bottom page of the website that reported the story has this written in bold print:

This story was dynamically generated using a generic 'template' and is not factual.

The rumour, which first started last year, cropped up again this morning when a website posted that the Idoma-born music icon was dead.

Though at the base of the website, the writer of the news indicated that it was just another hoax; many users of the site are unaware of this.

Tuface recently in an exclusive interview with ThenetnG stated that his proposal to Annie Macauly is where his heart led him to. He also stated the reason he chose Valentine’s Day was because that was when it happened and when he  felt the need to make that move.

‘I know it may be difficult if anyone happens to still be attached emotionally but I can only hope they understand that that’s where my heart is.’

When asked about the other women who have been associated with him in the past five years. Pero, as a matter of fact who is expecting a third child for him pretty soon, one would have expected that the woman with three children would be his option.

‘Wow! And someone else would say it should have been the mother of my eldest child.

Another person will even argue that it should be the lady that has been with me for the longest time. These are matters of the heart. They can’t always be analysed like that. Sometimes you no fit analyse am at all sef.’

Even when he was tactically asked by the interviewer that he had three women to choose from, at least seemingly, what was so special about Annie that really struck him.
‘My mind, my body, my soul, my heart chose her.’

So for those thinking that Tu Baba is not ready for marriage, they should get ready for the biggest wedding in entertainment industry in Nigeria.
