President, Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Alhaji Jamiu Tunde Ojulari has inaugurated the newly reconstituted executive committee of the FCT chapter. The eight-man member executive committee has Ibrahim Gaube Hamidu and Okoli Felix Segun as chairman and secretary respectively.
Inaugurating the committee on Thursday in Abuja, Ojulari, charged members to bring back the lost glory of youth sports development in FCT and urged them not to engage in activities that will tarnish the image of the organisation.
He enjoined private organizations, philanthropists and other stakeholders to join hands with the reconstituted YSFON, FCT chapter to move sports forward and commended the FCT Sports Council for their support to the chapter.
“Let me humbly seek your support in all spheres to enable the organisation move forward. I commend FCT sports Council for their love, commitment and support to the chapter,” he said.
Responding, the new chairman of the Federation, FCT chapter, Ibrahim Gaube Hamidu, commended the national executive committee of YSFON for the confidence reposed on them and assured not to disappoint them, stressing that the process of rebuilding a society where the future of the under privileged children will of paramount interest has been restored. “I want to first and foremost, thank the national body for the honour done to us and we will never disappoint you in carryout our functions.
“This event is critical in the life of FCT and it is a step toward shape the physical landscape of youth of development, it social and economic base and indeed it glorious future. It is a task that is geared toward laying a solid foundation for a new beginning and a greater tomorrow in FCT in term of sports development,” he said.
He enjoined other stakeholders and private organisations to join him in the task of repositioning grassroot sport development in FCT, stressing that they will not regret of any of their contribution to the organisation.
“Your financial, material and moral support towards achieving our target of reposition youth sports in FCT shall not be regretted as I assured you of my team commitment to the herculean task ahead,” he assured.
