The minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Sen.Bala Mohammed has said that his administration this year, has been able to protect lives and properties of the FCT residents to the tune of N253 million from fire disasters, and added that his administration will further improve on the emergency management services to help prevent further disasters in the FCT.
The minister in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Sule, stressed that the Urban Affairs Department of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) in FCT, has saved N253 million worth of property from fire incidences this year.
The statement read in part: “While reviewing the activities of the Urban Affairs Department of the AMMC, we got to know that the department has been very proactive and has been able to save lives and properties worth N253 million from fire and other disasters in the FCT.
