Worried by the continuous overlooking of Nigerian referees for continental and world body slots, Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) has said that it will start lobbying the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the world soccer ruling body, FIFA for recognition of its men and women for international competitions.
NRA president, Alhaji Ahmed Maude made this known in Abuja stating that the association in its wisdom to have credible and able men and women of whistle who can handle international competitions has wipe out aging referees from its system during the recently concluded endurance fitness test held in Abuja for all referees.
He said the yearly event put together by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in collaboration with the NRA was to checkmate the fitness level of all the referees in readiness for the 2011/2012 football season.
