Kano state Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwanwkaso has directed the state Ministry of Land and Physical Planning to revoke any land title, whose owner refuses to develop within the legally stipulated time.
Giving the order during the inauguration of a Task force on Land Revenue generation at the government house in Kano, the governor said the directive became imperative because uncompleted buildings and un-developed but fenced plots are posing a serious security threat to the people.
He said government was concerned that some criminals were using uncompleted structures as hideouts, warning that the authorities would not fold its arms while nefarious activities are being perpetrated.
On the Task force, Kwankwaso emphasised that it was set up to facilitate the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy to plot owners and to generate revenue, adding that the certificate has other benefits including serving as collateral for land owners who need loans from banks.
