IFAD Releases N1.9m To 3 Communities In Jigawa

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has released N1.9 million to three communities in Buji local government area of Jigawa to boost agricultural activities in the areas.

Malam Isyaku Kukuma, the IFAD Programme Officer in the area, disclosed this on Monday in Dutse in an interview with newsmen.

Kukuma identified the communities as  Yalwa, Jajukoli and Chakwama.

He enjoined the beneficiaries to make judicious use of their share of the money for the purposes they were meant.

In a separate interview, Alhaji Isa Bello, the chairman of the local government, promised that his administration would collaborate with IFAD to improve the quality of life of the rural dwellers.

He also pledged the commitment of the council to promoting agricultural activities, which he noted, is the mainstay of the state's economy.
