First lady Dame Patience Jonathan, in Ibadan yesterday urged all Nigerians, especially women to always pray and ensure that peace reigns in the country.
Dame Jonathan made the statement while addressing the mammoth crowd, majority of whom were women that thronged the Lekan Salami Sport Complex, Adamasingba in Ibadan.
The First Lady who said she was in the state on a 'Thank You Visit and Peace Advocacy Campaign' declared that it is the responsibility of all Nigerians to make sure that every part of the Country experiences peace.
She noted that the security situation of the country in recent times was condemnable as lots of innocent souls were being killed with bombs which calls for sober reflection.
The wife of the President declared that women throughout the country must gear-up and play their roles in making sure that peace reigns in their respective homes, towns, local government areas, states and the country as a whole.
"It is not enough to talk about peace but we must believe in it. It it is not enough to believe in peace but we must all put it into practice", she emphasised.
Dame Jonathan noted that it was women that always bear the brunt of violence in the society and that it is time for women to take up peace advocacy campaign in their respective areas to stop senseless violence that always claim their husbands and children.
The wife of the president declared that Peace Advocacy Campaign is a non governmental Organisation that embraced all Nigerians especially women irrespective of their political affiliation.
