Yuguda, Wife Get Yoruba Traditional Titles

Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda and his wife, Hauwa Abiodun Yuguda were, yesterday, conferred with the Yoruba traditional titles of ‘Otunba Ayatese and Yeye Otunba Ayatese’ respectively.

The installation ceremony of the traditional titles which held at the Government House, Bauchi, was attended by the representatives of the Emir of Bauchi, Alaafin of Oyo Empire and top government officials in the State.

Speaking at the occasion, the ‘Oba Yoruba’ of Bauchi, Alhaji Adebisi Lawal, explained that the titles were conferred on the celebrants in consideration of their immense contributions to the development and peaceful co-existence of diverse groups in the State.

He particularly applauded the Governor for being hospitable to Yoruba residents in the State where over 12 of them were given various political appointments by the government including the chief press secretary to the Governor, Mr Ishola Michael Adeyemi.

Responding, Governor Yuguda expressed appreciation for the honour done to him and promised that government would continue to give a sense of belonging to all irrespective of the tribal or religious backgrounds.
