The Ministry of science and Technology has installed time attendance system for recording resumption and closing of staff, as well as providing security around the office environment during working hours.

Minister of Science and Technology Prof Ita Ewa who inaugurated the facility in Abuja said this initiative will be used to monitor the time each member of staff resumes and closes from work. The system would equally help to determine the working of overtime and staff attendance attitude.

Ewa noted that the smart cards generated from the exercise would assist in ensuring improved security within the premises, as well as during medical emergencies, as vital information of each staff are contained in the smart cards.

He called for commitment and rededication to duty from all to ensure the success of the scheme, saying, such step would ensure the realization of the transformation agenda of the present administration.

“The time attendance system in the federal ministry of science and technology is in line with the aspirations of President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda, bearing in mind that the agenda was borne out of a need for value re-orientation, wealth creation and economic stability,”he said.

The Minister pledged the readiness of the ministry in assisting ministries and agencies that are desirous of acquiring the technology to improve productivity in their places of work
