37 Suspected Cultists Arraigned

Thirty-seven suspected cultists who had allegedly being terrorising the residents of Calabar South and Calabar Municipal Council Areas in Cross River State were, last week, arraigned before a trial Chief Magistrate, Emmanuel Okokon  in Calabar, the State capital.

The suspected cultists were charged for armed robbery and were remanded at Akokang Prison. The residents of the city were for over five days held hostage by the criminal activities of these suspected cultists.

 The Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Hogan Bassey, had earlier identified the cultists as members of Vikings and KKK.

Interestingly, the suspected cultists were said to have engaged in supremacy battle over which group controlled a political party’s congress.
