Juan Martin del Potro is the third big name to confirm his attendance at the AEGON Championships at Queen’s Club in June.
The 2009 US Open winner joins defending champion Andy Murray and last year’s runner-up, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, are preparing for Wimbledon at the west London tournament, which runs from June 11-17. The 23-year-old Argentine admits that grass is not his surface, but hopes that an appearance at Queen’s can stand him in good stead for Wimbledon, which begins on June 25.
“I like the surface, I’m not a grass-court specialist, but I’m improving. The AEGON Championships at Queen’s is an amazing tournament, very nice to come to, to play, to train and I will be there for sure trying to win my first title on grass.’’
