Hoodlums Loot Burning Filling Station

Pandemonium rocked  Kado  District of Abuja yesterday as  fire razed the Life Camp AP filling station. 

In the state of confusion, hoodlums around the filling station defied the thunderous flame and went for the safe of the filling station.

The hoodlums carted away money running into millions of Naira. However, men of the Nigerian Police  were able to recover N.5m from one of the hoodlums .  

The incident, according to an eyewitness happened at about 4.30 pm while the fuel attendants were offloading  fuel from a tanker.

As at the time LEADERSHIPSUNDAY arrived the scene, the entire filling station , cars and two tanker trucks were razed by the inferno . The owner of the filling station, Mrs. Robert Akpanto  told LEADERSHIPSUNDAY that an estimated property worth over  N300m had been lost to the inferno. An eyewitness told Leadership  sunday the fire would have extented to other builders both for the swift intervision of men of the fct fire service who sucessfully quench the fire.

The Life Camp Divisional Crime Officer (DCO), Mrs Ngozi Ubani  who was at the station  confirmed the  incident and assured that efforts were on with other  police officers to contain the  situation said police was able to content the situation such that no life was lost, she added that the police had  arrested some of the culprits and assured that the culprits will be charged to court after due investigations .
