Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun has finally resolved the lingering crisis that had resulted to destruction of lives and properties between the Yoruba communities and Hausa/Fulani/ Bororo herdsmen in Yewa North and other parts of the State.
The governor was able to achieve this through an inter-ministerial committee that mediated and proffer resolutions to end the crisis.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Basorun Muyiwa Oladipo, who presided over the all inclusive peace meeting at Obas Conference Hall, Oke –Mosan, Abeokuta said the state government was fully committed at ensuring that peace and tranquility reign across communities in the state.
He pointed out that, the drive for pursuance of peace in its entire ramification prompted the present administration to call for all inclusive stakeholders meeting in a bid to resolve the crises among the concerned parties.
The commissioner explained that, the crises could no longer be allowed to persist unabated among the affected communities as the scenario has posed serious insecurity, which have resulted to killings, maiming as well as destruction of properties on both sides saying that the feuds had led to court litigation and outright fleeing of indigenes from being killed by the Bororo.
