The Emir of Kano, Dr. Ado Bayero, has declared his plan to mobilise the northern emirs and governors to discuss how they can bring to an end the incessant clashes between Fulani herdsmen and the farmers.

The Emir who stated this while receiving leaders and members of Fulani socio-cultural group, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, in his palace recently, noted that he will change the attitude of the Fulanis for better.

He called on the Fulani group to remain focused in their peace campaign and to collaborate with one another in other to achieve the goal of lasting peace.

A statement by the national chairman of Miyetti Allah, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, and made available to LEADERSHP in Abuja yesterday, said that the group visited the Emir’s palace to express its sadness over the incessant killings of Fulani herdsmen in Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba and Kaduna states and called on the royal father to come into their aid to end these killings.

The Fulani leaders also frowned at the northern governors for not doing enough to curtail these incessant clashes between the Fulani herdsmen and the farmers in their various states, and called on the security agencies to arrest and deal with any groups or persons trying to foment trouble in the name of Fulani/farmers, adding that the association is not in support of any form of crisis.
