As the race for the post of the President of the World Bank group becomes tougher, the United States government has commenced its campaign in support of its sole candidate, Dr. Jim Yong Kim.
The campaign for the Asian-American, LEADERSHIP gathered, is aimed at scuttling the ambition of the Nigerian Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who was formerly the Managing Director of the global bank.
Although President Barack Obama waited until the last day to announce the US nomination for the office of the World Bank President, as soon as he did the full weight of the US government was thrown into an active campaign for Dr Jim Yong Kim.
