One of the families of the four persons shot dead on Thursday by a serving policeman in Jos said the family will bury their dead on Friday.
The Father of the deceased, Mr Yusuf Dakyens, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos on Friday that his son, Pankyes, felled by the bullets, would be buried at noon.
The mobile policeman, now under arrest, also injured six other persons while trying to mediate in a family feud between two brothers.
The incident occurred at Tudun Wada in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau, following a fight between two brothers, Sunday and Nengak at a drinking parlour, popularly called `` joint. ’’
Dakyen also said: ``there is no point waiting since the authorities are not doing anything about the incident.
``I see no reason why we should be keeping our dead since the authorities are saying nothing over the calamity that befell us.
``We did report to the police and even the STF Commander, yet nobody has said anything
to us. My family members have agreed that the burial of my son, Pankyes be done today.
``Arrangements have been made and we shall soon go to the mortuary of Plateau Hospital to
pick the corpse.''
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Samuel Dabai, told NAN that the
police had not conduct autopsy on the corpses.
``We have not conducted autopsy on the dead but if they feel they want to bury their
dead without it, who are we to stop them?''
Meanwhile, NAN learnt that one of the brothers, who steered up the incident
and injured during the shooting, was responding to treatment.
Also recuperating were four other persons injured in the incident. (NAN)
