Big Brother Flakes

Tails House of Commotion - Nobody could envisage how a game of chance bunched bad-tempered characters into one house. By the end of the third week, the Tails had lost two housemates: one was disqualified and the other evicted. Nigeria’s Karen and Tanzania’s Bhoke shouted each other down over Ernest. Same Bhoke took on Miss P over some mistimed motivational talk. At another stage, all the girls took the fight to the boys – over stashing of a Bacardi bottle. They lost their 25 per cent wager on shopping for luxury items. Ernest and Lotus also came into the picture before the latter was ingloriously disqualified for hitting out on Luclay a.k.a Denzel.

Amazing truths in a daring game
Vina says Adam (her boyfriend outside BB) will have to wait till their wedding night for it. Sharon O, the Ugandan musician says she would go for Zeus, the rapper from Botswana if she was to have anything to do with the guys in the house. Vimbai, the 24-year-old model from Harare, admits she has feelings for Alex, the Ghanaian bloke because they have similar backgrounds. Vina declares, “Lomwe has the best lips”. Weza, Angola’s TV presenter and model, reveals she will fall for same guy if she was to go with the flow. Millicent plans to ‘brainwash’ Alex if she was to ever fight for him with the other girls. “I am a straight woman but I’ve been with a woman,” Confidence will let us know. Weza is confident about her will have something with this mother of one if she was to choose amongst the girls.

Hanni’s culture shock
Hanni is a fifth-year Ethiopian Law student. She feels she is at a point in her life where she needs to learn more about herself. And that’s the reason she entered for the Big Brother show. Was this the right platform for her self-discovery quest? Hanni has blossomed in the Amplified house largely due to her connection with Lomwe, the club DJ from Blantyre, Malawi.

The pretty second half of Lohan (name for her union with Lomwe) was expected to give viewers more of the fun. But in a rather awkward twist she has held back citing clashes with her culture.

The fallout of this is Lomwe’s nomination of his partner-in-love for possible eviction this week. Is that cruel? Four other housemates; Sharon, Millicent, Bernadina and Vina are all giving her the stick. Vina says she is “faking it and has not been real”. Bernadina feels Hanni should have done more over the chicken episode with Confidence. “She could have sorted it out instead she went behind our back”. Sharon will have us believe the 22-year-old has not come out of her shell and is holding back. “She needs to show Africa what her capabilities are,” the beau declares.

Nkuli and Lotus Bite the Dust
Nkuli, South Africa’s Community TV intern, bid farewell to the Amplified house on Sunday. Africa was waiting for this and got their chance when Alex, Bhoke, Nic and Miss P nominated her for possible eviction. This was not surprising at all. She was bound to fall in an eviction crowd comprising lady’s man, Luclay; Zambian beautician, Kim; Zambia’s DJ and radio presenter, Mumba.

All of her rant about being nominated because she was a strong contestant was self patronage. She actually is a victim of Biggies decision to split the housemates. The fact that she admitted to missing Michael the most, speaks of what Africa has missed because of that split.

Oh Lotus! If only you had known better. Luclay was playing you and you got yourself worked up for nothing. If only you had not lashed out at him, there would have been no disqualification and eviction from BB. Africa misses you! Farewell girl. Please do learn to control your temper better next time girl.

Eviction blues for Sharon, Bernadina, Vina, Confidence and Michael
Pretty Sharon, jolly-good Bernadina (boo-yah), maligned Vina, aggressive Confidence, and comical Michael are all up for eviction this week. Hanni has missed the agony of possible eviction. A vindictive Vimbai, the Head of House, swapped her with Michael whom she has accused of saying too much. What did he say?

The hairdresser and father of one from Maputo, Mozambique, was accused of meaning every word of ‘Zimbabwe’s BB contestants are sent by the government’. Oh dude! I did warn you. The plenty talk was a huge banana peel that was bound to bring you down. Let’s hope it doesn’t take you out too.

Some quickies
Nic interests Kim. She would like to know him in the future. She admitted this on Sunday’s Live Show. Mumba wouldn’t call Miss P a back stabber for swapping her with Karen. She wants us to believe she will be cool with Miss P. Denzel (Luclay) says Lotus was selfish. Nkuli, the ousted housemate will miss Ernest and Alex least because “they are double-headed”. Ernest boldly declared to Karen that she needs to get laid. And Karen is set to test ‘the fake Ernest-Bhoke’ relationship in the house. She plans to seduce Ernest to get at Bhoke.
