Sokoto State Government said that it spent over N1.28 billion monthly on salaries of civil servants in the state.
The State Head of Service, Alhaj Abdullahi disclosed this yesterday in a chat with newsmen in Sokoto.
He said the amount include the increments in salaries as a result of the new minimum wage.
It would be recalled that as from this month Sokoto State will commence the implementation of 18,000 minimum wage across the state.
Meanwhile, the Head of Service has called on the civil servants to reciprocate the gesture and work for the success of the Wammakko administration.
