Minister for Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, his Power and Steel counterpart, Dr. Barth Nnaji, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi Lamido, Chairman of Dangote Group, Mr. Aliko Dangote will be attending the 2012 annual conference of the Export-Import Bank which will be held at Omni-Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC between April 12 and 13  2012.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States’ (Ex-Im Bank) 2012 Annual Conference presents a unique opportunity for companies around the world to meet U.S. exporters of all sizes.

This year’s conference will feature a special “Speed Networking” session that will bring together foreign buyers and American sellers in one-on-one introductory meetings aimed to facilitate deal making.

Attendees include more than 1,200 exporters, representatives of financial institutions, foreign trade partners, and government officials. At the event, participants will have an opportunity to meet Ex-Im Bank staff and other U.S. government representatives and obtain detailed information about export finance and trade products and programmes.

Part of the issues to be discussed at the conference is the issue and reformation of Nigeria’s Power Sector and the Imperative of reforms and opportunities for U.S. exporters.

Because the Nigerian government has embarked on an ambitious programme of reforms to attract foreign direct investment in power generation, the panel on the Nigeria’s Power Sector will explore the various reforms and resulting opportunities for American firms.

The purpose of this panel is to inform the audience of the features and status of the reforms being implemented including privatisation.
