The Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, will honour 33 of its graduating students on Saturday who bagged First Class Degrees.
The university will also confer honorary doctorate degrees on Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekwerenmadu, Alhaji Sani Dauda of ASD Motors and Mr David Victor of Osprey International Ltd.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Muhammed Audu told newsmen on Monday in Minna, during the pre-convocation briefing in preparation for the 19th and 20th combined Convocation ceremony, during which 2,571 students would officially pass out.
He said the convocation which would kick off on Friday, is expected to graced by the Visitor to the university, President Goodluck Jonathan, the Minister of Education, Prof Ruqayyatu Rufai and Gov. Babangida Aliyu of Niger.
Audu said the President would inaugurate several development projects at the university.
The vice chancellor said that Prof. Peter Okebukola, a former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission would deliver the convocation lecture.
The lecture is titled ``Breaking Barriers to National Development: Are We Taking Full Advantage of Science and Technology?"
He disclosed that more than 40 lecturers of the institution were undergoing studies in foreign universities as part of strategic staff development programme of the university.
