Suswam Signs N112.7b Budget, Assents 6 Bills

Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam has signed the N112.7 billion appropriation budget passed by the State House of Assembly, just as he has also signed into law six bills to enhance rapid transformation of the state.

The speaker of the State House of Assembly, Barrister David Iorhemba, who presented the budget document and the six bills to governor Suswam, yesterday, at Government House Makurdi said the house  passed  the bills so as to sustain the infrastructural development of the state.

The six bills signed into law by the governor are the bill to make provision for the amendment of the Electoral Law 2007, the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) law, a bill for Amendment of the Tenure of Local Government Councils and the bill to make Amendment of the Recurrent Expenditure of  2012 and Capital Expenditure of 2012 therewith.

Performing the signing ceremony, yesterday, Governor Suswam said the delay in the signing of the appropriation bill was caused by some unforeseen issues that were needed to be properly addressed by the state and added that the passing and signing of the bills had marked the beginning of a better economic running of the state.
