Gov Aliyu Swears In New Commisioner, Reshuffles Cabinet

Gov. Babangida Aliyu of Niger has sworn- in Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi to replace the deceased Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Aminu Yusuf.

 A statement signed by Malam Danladi Ndayebo, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said  the Chief Servant  assigned the Ministry of Agriculture to Abdullahi as the Commissioner.

Until his appointment, the new commissioner was the former Managing Director of the State Agricultural Development Project ADP.

Following the swearing in of Abdullahi, the statement said that Gov. Aliyu also moved the Commissioner for Education Dr Peter Sale Sarki  to the Ministry of Land and Housing, while the former Commissioner in the Ministry Alhaji Nuhu Musa was moved to the newly created Ministry of Mining and Solid Minerals.

 It added that Dr Ibrahim Sule, former Commissioner for Works, has been posted to the Ministry of Health while Alhaji Abubakar Jibril, hitherto in the Ministry of Environment, now  moves to the Ministry of Works.

 According to the statement, Alhaji Saidu Ndako moves from the Ministry of transport to the State Planning Commission.

Alhaji Mohammadu Dansalau was taken from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Investments, Commerce and Cooperatives while his predecessor Alhaji Mohammed  Wushishi took over  Tourism and Culture.

Mrs Susan Gana who was in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture, now takes charge of  Education, while the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hajiya Hadiza Abdullahi, will now add Environment to her portfolio.

 The governor charged the commissioners to step up  their performances and resist  the temptation to indulge in corruption
