CBN Plans To Sell Bills Worth N140.61bn

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on Friday said would issue N140.61 billion (894.86 million dollar) in treasury bills.

The apex bank made the announcement through an online statement posted on its website.

According to the statement, the issue range from three-month to one-year maturities would be issued at its monthly debt auction next week.

The bank said that it would auction N34.88 billion in 9-day paper, N45 billion in N182-day bills and N60.73 billion in 364-day bills next Thursday, April 26.

The CBN in March sold N21.83 billion of 9-day treasury bills at a 14.96 per cent marginal rate.

It also said that the amount was higher than the 14.09 per cent it sold at the Dec. 21 auction.

The bank also sold 182-day bills worth N42.73 billion at 16.98 per cent as against 16.20 per cent sold at the Dec. 21 auction. (NAN)
