He’s probably the world’s most sought-after bachelor - and now could handsome Prince Harry be set to make pop princess Mollie King a real life royal? The celebrity rumour mill has been ablaze this week with stories that the beautiful Saturdays singer and Harry have gone from being friends to something much more romantic.

Just last month Harry told an American TV show that his search to find his own princess was proving difficult. He explained that it wasn’t so much about finding someone good enough to be a princess, but looking for someone who would be willing to embrace the incredible, unique pressures that would come with such a massive public role.

‘It’s sort of: “Oh my God, he’s a prince!’” he sighed. ‘Look at me, I’m 27 years old. I’m not so much searching for someone to fulfil the role - but obviously, you know, finding someone that would be willing to take it on!’

Meanwhile, Mollie, 24, who has been friends with the prince for the last two years, split from her pin-up boyfriend David Gandy back in February. If she and Harry do make it up the aisle, the lucky singer will have managed to find herself possibly the only living man more eligible than her model ex.

Insiders  think  Mollie’s band mate Una Healy and Harry’s cousin Zara Phillips may have got their heads together and played matchmakers to the gorgeous pair. Una and Zara have become close friends through their England rugby playing men, Mike Tindall and Ben Foden. ‘Zara is brilliant, so much fun,’ Una has said - and it’s more than possible they brought Harry and Mollie closer after finding them both single at the same time.

Mollie regularly attends England rugby games with Una, where she too would have got to know Princess Anne’s daughter Zara, who Harry adores. Harry is vice patron of England’s Rugby Football Union and also regularly attends their games.

When the story broke last week that Mollie and Harry could possibly be dating, the first person she turned to was her pal Una - and they looked lost in thought as they wandered fashionable Portobello Market in Netting Hill.

Besides all the links between Harry and Mollie, one thing has not escaped the media’s attention - Mollie’s resemblance to Harry’s only long-term ex. Chelsy Davv, who he split from in 2009.

The ginger charmer clearly has a type and Harry has remained friends with the South African society babe - who, according to reports, was not seduced by the thought of life in the royal goldfish bowl.

According to one source, Harry is already ‘completely smitten’ with leggy beauty Mollie. The two have apparently been spotted flirting and partying in various London nightclubs over the past few weeks.

Friends of the couple have revealed they’ve both been going to huge lengths to keep their blossoming romance under wraps. It’s very early days for them, but they’re head over heels!’ said an insider.

It is believed Harry met Mollie in July 2010 at the Asprey World Class Cup at Surrey’s Hurtwood Polo Club. where she cheered him on from the stands before being introduced to the royal for the first time.

After striking up a friendship, Mollie and Harry finally got together and two weekends ago enjoyed a flirty night of karaoke at trendy nightspot Bunga Bunga, where they reportedly belted out hits by Adele and jay-Z.

After breaking up with Chelsy, Harry dated another blonde, underwear model Florence Brudenell-Bruce for two months, but they split up amid rumours that Harry didn’t want to be ‘tied down. The prince is certainly no snob when it comes to potential girlfriends and was linked to TV presenter Caroline Flack, ex-girlfriend of One Direction’s Harry Styles, at one point.

The royal’s good looks haven’t gone unnoticed among some of the world’s biggest stars too, with both Adele and Cheryl Cole admitting their lust for him. ‘1 know I said I wouldn’t go out with a ginger, but it’s Prince Harry; enthused Adele. ‘I’d be a real duchess then! I’d love a night out with him. He seems like a right laugh:

While Cheryl admitted she dreams of being Harry’s bride. Asked if she knew that Harry fancied her, Cheryl beamed: ‘I do! 1 love Prince Harry. Actually, I had a dream last night I married Prince Harry and was a real-life princess! Cheryl is already a good friend of Harry’s dad Prince Charles through her work with The Prince’s Trust - and this was a clear signal to the dashing prince that she would be up for romance, if he were, But it seems poor Cheryl may have missed the boat, with some royal observers saying that Mollie does seem to be the ‘perfect’ match for Harry.

His friends say he likes well-brought-up English girls who appreciate his sense of humour, are secure and ‘fun’ without being unladylike.

One commentator described Harry’s type as ‘smiley, demure, grounded and sporty’ - just like our Mollie in fact. Another claimed his female friends tend to be ‘Newcastle blondes’ - privately educated. Sioaney, pretty. blonde girls who have been to solid universities such as Newcastle.

Mollle didn’t make it to university because of her booming pop career, but she did get three strong A Levels. She fits the sporty bill, racing for the British Children’s Ski Team and she was privately educated at Surbiton High School.

Lists of possible brides for Harry include rich aristocrats such as Charlotte Casiraghi, Princess Caroline’s daughter, a horse-mad beauty who’s just become the face of Gucci, and Lady Natasha Howard, the Earl of Suffolk’s daughter whom Harry once had a crush on. But it seems down-to-earth Harry wants a girl with her Hobbs ballet pumps planted firmly in the real world.

While Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has so far managed to expertly side step comparisons to Princess Diana - Mollie. simultaneously glamorous, demure, sexy. understated and possessing real star quality - might not be able to hold them off for long, should a romance be confirmed.

For now, the palace and Mollie’s spokespeople aren’t saying anything. So is she really the woman of Harry’s dreams? We certainly hope so!
