Kogi Starts Construction Of 6 Roads Worth N4.8bn

The Kogi Government has started the construction of six roads spread across four

local government areas at the cost of N4.8 billion.

Launching the commencement of the construction at Adavi Local government area on Thursday, the Deputy-Governor, Mr Yomi Awoniyi,
said that the state was embarking on the construction of the roads in keeping with the  campaigns promises of Gov. Idris Wada.

He said that when completed, the roads would enhance the movement of goods and services across the state and
impact positively on the socio-economic life of the people.

The 57. 83 km roads are in Adavi, Ijumu, Kogi, Dekina and Kabba/ Bunu local government areas.

The roads are  Koton-Karfe township road, Kabba township road, Itakpe-Kuroko-Okene road, Ogugu-Adum-Ikem road and Iyale township road expected to  be completed within one year.

Awoniyi reiterated the present administration’s commitment to improving the well- being of
the people.

Awoniyipromised the construction companies handling the projects that government would ensure the timely
release of funds to ensure the speedy completion of the roads within the stipulated periods.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commencement  of the road projects was part of activities marking Wada's one hundred days in office. (NAN)
